MILAN (AP) — Alina Muller did it again. Twelve years after scoring the clinching goal to deliver Switzerland its first Olympic medal in women's hockey — a bronze at the 2014 Sochi Games — Muller scored 9:09 into overtime in a 2-1 win over Sweden on Thursday for the bronze at the Milan Cortina Games.

CORTINA D'AMPEZZO, Italy (AP) — After a rocky two weeks of Olympic curling that included accusations of cheating and a profanity-laced rant, the Canadian men will play for the gold medal at the Milan Cortina Games.

Switzerland and Sweden face off in the women's ice hockey third-place game of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina on Thursday, with both teams hoping to claim bronze.

Players with Washington state's new professional women's hockey team also competed for Canada and Czechia.

MILAN (AP) — On a night of American comebacks at the Milan Cortina Games, Alysa Liu delivered the U.S. its first women’s figure skating Olympic gold medal in 24 years. The 20-year-old Liu performed a near-flawless free skate Thursday to upstage Japanese rivals Kaori Sakamoto and Ami Nakai.

Team USA women’s curling secured a major win on Thursday, when they beat Switzerland 7-6. Their remarkable run in the 2026 Winter Olympic Games has been filled with impressive moments, including their first-ever win against Canada in an Olympic competition.

For nearly 55 minutes, the Swiss men’s national ice hockey team looked poised to punch its ticket to the semifinals. Crisp passing, disciplined defensive structure, and timely goaltending had the Swiss in control of their quarterfinal matchup.

Great Britain’s men scraped into the curling semi-finals on Thursday to keep their medal hopes alive, but the women fell agonisingly short after the curling round robin stage at the Winter Olympics 2026.
